OK, Sophia has really changed her behavior over the last few days. As I mentioned previously, she has now accepted the swing. Not only has she accepted it, I think she is addicted to it. She slept in her swing the night before last for 6 hours. AND, she slept in it again last night for EIGHT hours. I woke up at 5:30 am expecting to find her awake and when I didn't I checked to make sure she was still breathing.
Also new to her repetoire is a constant need to feed which I assume is related to her 6-week growth spurt. I had her attached to me last night and the night before for what seemed like almost the entire evening. No sooner would she finish one session, she would cry inconsolably and want to eat again. Since the books I have been reading say if she takes the breast when you offer it keep feeding, we have been. Last night, after feeding on me for about 3.5 hours over the course of a 5 hour period, she still was screaming. Brad gave her the usual formula bottle before bed, which she proceeded to throw up. She went through three outfits before calming down and falling asleep in her swing. She started up with the same behavior again this morning. I fed her twice in a row - she threw up and cried for more. I tried to hold her off for about an hour or so by rocking her and getting her to sleep for a brief time in her bouncy seat. But then she wanted more. After feeding her again I was finally able to get her to sleep in her swing.
Any advice from the moms out there? Should I be feeding continuously if that is what she seems to want? Is it ok to keep her swinging for so long if that is what seems to get her to go to and stay asleep?
